As a club committed to constantly being on the lookout for new waters for it’s members, Lymm AC are pleased to announce the acquisition of three new venues for 2015! All three of the new venues have already been included on the Lymm website and you can find direction details for them in the online version of the mapbook.

The first water is ‘Kitas Pool’ at Tarvin Sands Fishery near Chester.

Kitas Pool is a shallow, one acre pool set in a reindeer centre and a five pool fishery. Members have exclusive use of ‘Kitas Pool’ which is fenced off and has a gated entrance secured with a club padlock, the catch returns and box is located inside the pool entrance. The pool contains carp, bream, roach, perch, gudgeon and tench and as its new to the club for 2015, probably a few surprises too! In addition to club rules, the water specific rules are barbless hooks only and no groundbait. Facilities include a tackle shop, toilets and a cafe serving hot and cold food.

Next up, is an addition to the already impressive stretch of the River Severn at Llandrinio.

llandriniobridge

New for 2015, over a mile of this superb river, upstream of the bridge has been added to our already extended stretch downstream of the road bridge, with both stretches being easily accessible. This length of the River Severn provides good fishing as soon as you reach the river. Chub, large barbel, roach, perch and dace are the main species for the coarse angler, with grayling and trout providing sport for the game angler. salmon are not uncommon along this stretch of the Severn.

Continue past the Punch Bowl public house and for the downstream stretch turn left just before the road bridge over the river. Follow this road for 100m and turn right at the signpost for Haimwood. After the first farm park either tight against the fence on the short track on the right leading up to the field at the mid way point or continue for another 150m around the right hand bend and park on the right against the field wall just beyond the second farm. Access to the river is via a gate at the mid way point or a stile on the opposite side of the road to the farm. For the upstream stretch above the road bridge limited parking is available in the lay-by on the left just before the bridge (postcode SY22 6SG) then on foot head to the right following the Shropshire Way public footpath to access the river.

A new stretch of the Vyrnwy for 2015 containing barbel, chub and trout. The overhanging trees on the far bank will provide plenty of cover for chub in the summer months and there are fast flowing sections, as well as deeper pools to be found on this superb stretch of river. The lower half is good for trotting in many places, whilst the many Alder and Willow lined pegs provide good stalking locations, pike anglers will also find some decent specimens. In addition, salmon are reported to have frequented this ¾ mile long stretch.
